For each of the projects a dedicated multidisciplinary team is formed in which all the necessary state-of-the-art know-how and experience is incorporated. Scientists and engineers are working closely together with financial and marketing experts, collectively meeting the highest standards.
At present the organisation is focussed on flat land large scale electricity storage (FLES). Some of the key people are:

 

Dr. JMH Huynen

Dr. Johannes M.H. Huynen

Economist, founder and CEO of Sogecom BV. During the eighties he was a member of the group studying the possibilities for large scale electricity storage in the Netherlands. In 2005 he reopened the O-PAC studies, resulting in completely updated plans.
Founded both the exhibition centres Eurohal Valkenburg and MECC (Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Centre). He also started telecom-industries in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands and was Vice-President of the Board of ACEC electro-technical industries in Belgium (17 enterprises, 7.000 employees).

In cooperation with the Universities of Maastricht, Aachen, Liège, Hasselt he developed life sciences & biotechnology activities.’
He was Honorary Consul of France for 25 years and official advisor of the Belgian Ministry of Trade. For his achievements he received several official Dutch, French and Belgian honours.

Mr. Wouter H Muller

Mr. Wouter H. Muller
General manager of O-PAC Ontwikkelingsmij BV, a dedicated company finalizing  the development of the O-PAC project (further engineering, permits, geological preparations etc.) towards a final investment decision.
Practised as a solicitor (civil law notary) for 10 years in the Netherlands.
He has more than 20 years experience in the financial sector, as managing director of several branches of Pierson/Mees(Pierson) in Luxemburg, Curaçao and Switzerland and as board member of several international enterprises.

Drs. Ruut Schalij

Drs. Ruut Schalij
Has 10 years of experience in the energy markets. First as risk manager of Dutch energy utility Nuon, thereafter in the field of deal structuring, business development strategy and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to his work in the energy markets he worked for more than 10 years as risk manager and trader financial sector.



Drs. Twan Arts
Has more than 20 years experience in developing and managing complex projects in a.o. ICT, life sciences and energy markets.

Ir. Hans J.F. de Haan
Former chair of the board of the Royal Haskoning Group.
Was as engineer at Van Hasselt en de Koning responsible for all O-PAC research during the eighties. He is member of several managing and supervisory boards.
Technical supervisor of the recent O-PAC update studies.

Ir. Ing. Bas van Noorden
Studied mechanical engineering (energy department) and technical innovation sciences. He joined the O-PAC team in 2009.
